A Piqua mother who rolled over and killed her infant daughter was sentenced to three years in prison for felony child endangering.
Tiffani Cantrell, 23, cried out in the courtroom after learning her punishment on Monday, November 16, 2009.
In 2008, Cantrell, after a night of partying, rolled over on her five-month-old daughter, who was sleeping in the bed next to her.
Judge Jeff Welbaum handed down some tough words before he sentenced Cantrell.
"You've taken no responsibility. You have no remorse. You have a hostile and negative attitude, and you were intoxicated at the time of the incident and under the influence of drugs," Welbaum said.
Welbaum also stated that Cantrell had previously been warned by Miami County Children's Services to not sleep in the same bed with her infant.
A jury found Cantrell guilty on the second day of her trial.
