PIQUA, Ohio (WDTN) - Piqua police filed charges against four people involved in the backyard brawl, that was caught on tape.

2 News broke this story on Monday, after the parent of one of the teens turned to 2 with video of the fight.

Witnesses said about 27 students and several adults were watching as two thirteen year old girls got into a fist fight. One of them captured the fight on camera and posted the video on facebook and You Tube.

In the video you can see the mother of one of the teens exchanging heated words with a teen on the ground. Then police said she encouraged her daughter to fight the girl again.

You could hear several other people encouraging the teens to keep fighting in the background.

Police charged Hazel Gheen, the mother of the teenage girl, and her grandfather, Jeff Reedy with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

The two teens were also charged with disorderly conduct.

Lt. Marcos Rodriguez with the Piqua police department said the adults should have tried to stop the fight.

Kim Burt, the mother of the teen that took the beating said she was not too happy with her daughter for not walking away from the fight, but she felt her daughter deserved to be charged with disorderly conduct for her role in this incident.

Burt said the story needed to serve as a wake up call that adults were playing a role in promoting bullying, and teens needed to learn that there were consequences for engaging in violent behavior.
