YELLOW SPRINGS, Ohio (WDTN) - Yellow Springs police Sergeant Thomas Jones has been placed on paid administrative leave following an incident officials said happened on June 15.

Interim Police Chief Arthur Scott handed down the suspension the same day the incident occurred, according to Village Manager Laura Curliss.

Officials declined to comment any further and said the matter is under investigation.

According to Curliss, Chief Scott, Sergeant Jones and a third uninterested village employee will meet for a pre-disciplinary hearing in the near future.  The manager will then review all findings and determine any disciplinary action if necessary.

Sergeant Jones is a 20-year veteran of the department.  He is currently the only full-time sergeant on the force.
