XENIA, Ohio (WDTN) - Xenia City Schools Superintendent Deborah Piotrowski will not be leaving the district.

The Xenia City School Board of Education decided during its Monday, July 9, meeting to extend Piotrowski's contract with the district by one year.

School Board President Bill Spahr said Piotrowski "conveyed her desire to remain in Xenia and continue the work that has already begun to transform the district."

Piotrowski has been under fire recently. The group "Voices for Xenia Community Schools" held two petition drives working to get her removed.

Our partners at the Xenia Daily Gazette broke this story and will have more on this story in tomorrow's edition.
