FAIRBORN, Ohio (WDTN) - A Halloween scare has students at Wright State on high alert.
We've gotten word from police of a plan by some to wear masks and assault women walking alone on campus this weekend and on Halloween.
Students received an email warning them of the plan.
We called Wright State officials to ask about security in light of the recent warning about the masked males. They tell us they're increasing patrols. They also advised students not to walk alone and to pay attention.
Larysa Gilbert says she'll be among those on campus Halloween night for class. "I have a friend I have class with we normally walk together but we're still two girls on campus," said Gilbert.
She says she's not spooked by the warning. "When I first read it, I was kind of shocked and I thought who would report that type of thing. It's one of those they're trying to get a rise out of everyone."
Wright State officials say they learned of the plan from a "known source".
