WPAFB, Ohio (WDTN) - The National Museum of the United States Air Force is getting ready for its newest arrival.
Crews made room for the space shuttle trainer that lands at Wright Patterson Air Force Base Wednesday, August 22.
According to museum director, Retired Lieutenant General Jack Hudson, once the trainer is in place, ramps will be built along with a learning node that holds 60 people.
He says if it sounds like a lot of pieces, you're right.
"Literally, it's like taking a jig saw puzzle and we had to re-arrange it, but we have people who are very good at this and they figured out how to move and keep the same number of planes and create room for this new exhibit," said Lt. General Jack Hudson (Ret.), Director, National Museum of the U.S. Air Force.
The shuttle trainer coming to the museum is one of three built by NASA.
Ours has been at the Johnson Space Center for 30 years.
