Sugarcreek names new police chief

SUGARCREEK TWP., Ohio (WDTN) - Sugarcreek Township will soon have a new police chief.

Mike Brown, the current assistant chief of Riverside, has accepted the post.

We're told he issued a memo to his staff that he is the Riverside Police Department Thursday.

He is expected to be sworn in Tuesday, February 19, 2013.

Former chief James Deaton announced his resignation in January citing personal reasons.

He was with the department 17-years.
