SUGARCREEK TWP., Ohio (WDTN) - A preliminary report was released Thursday about a crash that killed three Bellbrook High School students.
The report says Jesse Whitaker, 17, was driving the pickup that crashed Sunday, November 4 during the early morning hours.
Police say he somehow lost control of his pickup truck on Wagner Road. The truck veered off the road and crashed into a tree.
The report says that Whitaker told investigators he was driving at 50 mph. The speed limit on that stretch of Wagner Road is 45 mph.
Julianna Hawk, 14, Sophie Kerrigan, 17, and Skylar Kooken, 16, were killed.
Three others, including Whitaker, Zachery Morgan, 18, and Allison Magill, 17, were injured.
The report also said that Whitaker was wearing his seat belt, but it was unclear whether the other passengers were wearing theirs.
Officers do not believe drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
Police are still investigating the crash.

The following people have recently been booked into Jail. They may not have been convicted of the crimes they are charged with and are innocent until proven guilty.
