BEAVERCREEK, Ohio (WDTN) - A traveling, tribute wall to honor the men and women who have put their lives on the line for our country will be making its way from the Nutter Center at Wright State to the Greene County Fairgrounds in Xenia on Wednesday.
Officials will be shutting down a number of streets and intersections from Fairbron to Xenia, said 2 News Traffic Reporter Karrie Rossmiller.
Three to four thousand motorcycles will accompany the memorial, plus thousands of people expected to line the streets to watch the parade go by. The escort parade is set to leave the Nutter Center at 6 p.m. on Wednesday evening.
Officials will close the intersection North Fairfield and Colonel Glenn at 5:45 p.m. for the wall's departure, and reopen the intersection at about 7:30 p.m. The ramps from 675 to North Fairfield will also be shutdown. In addition, the southbound lanes of North Fairfield Road and the eastbound side of New Germany Trebein will be closed from 6 until 8 p.m.
The parade then heads through Beavercreek Twp toward Xenia, south on Trebein Road, east on Dayton-Xenia.. and then south on Progress Drive. The motorcade escort then makes its way into Xenia and through the downtown along West Main, North Detroit, and Ankeney Mill. Those streets will all be closed for about an hour on Wednesday.
