Local voters gather for VP debate

BEAVERCREEK, Ohio (WDTN) - As the November presidential election draws closer, both parties are trying to gain momentum, especially in this battleground state of Ohio.

Obama for America held a watch party at a home on Riverbend Drive Thursday evening, hoping to see Vice President Joe Biden aggressively defend President Barack Obama's record.

Democrats says there's no doubt Congressman Paul Ryan is a great debater.  But, they say he and Mitt Romney want to take the country back to the same failed politics of the past decade that crashed our economy.

"They support my values as middle-class. They represent healthcare for people.  They represent education and opportunity for people and that is what America is about," comment democrat Kim Radominski.

Meanwhile, Republicans gathered to watch the debate at the Beavercreek Victory Center on Seajay Drive.

Supporters say Republican Presidential nominee Mitt Romney scored a win in last week's Presidential debate and they were hoping for the same result for Congressman Ryan.

The GOP camp says Ohioans simply can't afford another four years with Mr. Obama as President.

"We have to get out the word that we need to appeal Obama care so that Romney, Medicare can continue as it is. we don't want the seniors scared. we have to listen to what president Romney and vice president to be Bryan have to say," explains republican Macy Yantis.
