BEAVERCREEK, Ohio (WDTN) - The Beavercreek Fire Department announced Tuesday it will be collecting items to send to the troops overseas.

Items may be dropped off at any fire station in Beavercreek starting February 25 through March 11. The items will then be sent to troops that have little to no support or are in remote locations.  Addresses are provided by the Ohio Blue Star Mothers and Operation Thank You.

Monetary donations are also being accepted. Checks can be made out to: Beavercreek Fire Local # 2857 - Care Package Drive.  These can be sent to: Professional Firefighters Local # 2857, PO Box 192, Alpha, Ohio 45301.

Drop off locations:
Station # 61    2195 Dayton-Xenia Road
Station # 62    3777 Dayton-Xenia Road
Station # 63    3100 Kemp Road
Station # 64     3633 Indian Ripple

There will be tables in the vestibule of each station.  Donations can be left on these tables if the crews are out on calls and not in the station.  Station 62 does not have an open vestibule; if the crews are out of the station, an alternate drop off is Peace Lutheran Church 3530 Dayton-Xenia Road.

Items suggested for donation include: potato chips, cookies that won't melt, gum, hard candy, beef jerky, baby/wet wipes- unscented, microwave food, nuts, cheese crackers, stationary, drink mixes, tube socks, toothbrushes, and toothpaste.
