XENIA, Ohio (WDTN) - Defense attorneys for a fan involved in a "basketbrawl" started their case Wednesday.
They're defending Devon Stidham-Hamilton, 18. He is accused of jumping from the stands and punching a Miamisburg basketball player during a game.
The brawl left a Miamisburg player, Austin McCoy, with multiple facial fractures.
Stidham-Hamilton pleaded not guilty to assault charges.
A witness took the stand Wednesday. The 16-year old said he was in the first row of the bleachers when the fight started and jumped onto the court to hold McCoy back.
Stidham-Hamilton faces up to 8 years in prison if he's convicted.
