WILBERFORCE, Ohio (WDTN) - Central State University will inaugurate its new president on March 7.
Dr. Cynthia Jackson-Hammond will become the eighth president of the university. She is the first woman to hold the office.
The inauguration and investiture ceremony will be held at 11:00 am in the Paul Robeson Cultural Arts Center on campus.
University trustees and delegates from universities across the country will participate as will students and staff. A reception will follow, then a black-tie celebration will take place at the Dayton Art Institute.
Several events are also planned leading up to the inauguration including Marauder Service Day, Charter Day and Celebrating University and Community.
Dr. Jackson-Hammond steps in for John Garland who served the university for 15 years.
