WILBERFORCE, Ohio (WDTN) - Doctor Cynthia Jackson-Hammond was inaugurated as President of Central State University Thursday.

Dr. Jackson-Hammond is the eighth president to lead the university, and first female in Central State's 126 years of existence.  She became President in July 2012. 

Before coming to Central State, Dr. Jackson- Hammond served as provost and vice president for academic affairs at Coppin State University.

She began her career in higher education in 1987 as an instructor and coordinator of developmental reading at the University of Louisiana.
