Bomb squad called for suspicious bag

BEAVERCREEK TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) - Roads in the area of North Fairfield Road at New Germany Trebein Road were closed Wednesday as the bomb squad worked nearby.

2 NEWS has learned the bomb squad was called just after 3 p.m. when someone noticed a suspicious suitcase on the side of the Rex Center Shopping Plaza near the Family Christian Store in the 2700 block of Fairfield Road.

Police blew up the device as a precautionary measure just before 4:20 p.m.

No further details were immediately available.
