DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - A low dam in the Great Miami River through Dayton will be taken out.
It's part of the River Run Project that will put canoes and kayaks on the water near Riverscape MetroPark.
Project leaders say fundraising efforts have been successful. They expect that the removal of the dam will allow for more rapids to create two white water areas.
Construction on The River Run Project will start next year. It will take a year to complete.
It will include the Canal Parkway which will eventually connect The University of Dayton with Tech Town.
The project will cost $4-million.
