DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - 2 NEWS has learned the U.S. Postal Service intends to close the Dayton Processing and Distribution Facility downtown and move operations to Columbus.
The timing on the move is uncertain because the postal service agreed to impose a moratorium on closing or consolidating post offices and processing facilities until May 15 to give Congress time to come up a different plan.
The USPS says action is needed because financially it is hurting.
There has been a 25 percent decline in the volume of First Class mail since 2006.
The postal service receives no tax dollars to operate.
The following people have recently been booked into Jail. They may not have been convicted of the crimes they are charged with and are innocent until proven guilty.
