DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Firefighters battled a vacant house fire that they now deem "suspicious".

The blaze broke out on Sherman Street in Dayton just before 10 Saturday morning.

When firefighters arrived, they found flames in the back of the house.

The 9-1-1 call led officials to believe a dog was inside the burning building, but firefighters never found one.

If you know anything about what started the fire, call Dayton Fire Headquarters at 333-4500.
