VERSAILLES, Ohio (WDTN) - Darke County Sheriff's deputies serving a misdemeanor arrest warrant Thursday night said they stumbled upon a meth lab.

Deputies arrived at 9690 Greenville-St. Mary’s Road in Versailles in search of 39-year-old Edward Dingman Jr. when they observed what they said appeared to be materials used to manufacture methamphetamine.

They obtained a search warrant and called for the Darke County Sheriff’s Office Clandestine Drug Lab team. Their search uncovered what they described as numerous materials inside and outside the residence that confirmed the manufacturing of methamphetamine.

Dingman was arrested on the misdemeanor warrant. At this time there are no other charges filed pending the return of lab results on evidence collected at the scene.

Earlier in the day, deputies and firefighters responded to the 10,400 block of Beisner Road where they found materials burning along the side of the road that appeared to be items used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine.

Investigators have not determined if both drug lab incidents are related.
