GREENVILLE, Ohio (WDTN) - Miami Valley residents were still digging out of the snow, as they prepared for the next big snow storm.
Miami County was still in a level 2 snow emergency on Sunday night. Darke County downgraded from level 2 to level 1 on Sunday evening.
Sheriffs officials cautioned residents that rural, secondary roads were still covered with a thick sheet of snow and ice.
Darke County resident Nathan Bowers said he was tired of being cooped up at home for two days, in a level 3 snow emergency.
"Really, to be cooped up for that long it just really gets to you, tell you what it's stressful. I gotta get out, I just gotta get out," said Bowers.
It was short lived relief. Residents were looking forward to the next snow storm, that was expected to dump several more inches on top of what was already piled up on the ground.
Some residents were already at the grocery store, stocking up.
"Big items for us are milk, eggs, meat, and bread," said Mike Null, assistant manager of the Eikenberry's Super Value Food Mart.
Sheriff's officials responded to more than fifty slide-offs and crashes in both Miami and Darke counties, since Friday. Officials were still cautioning residents to stay home, and get out only if they absolutely had to.
