CLARK Co., Ohio (WDTN) - A Clark County woman is now charged with child endangering after her son was found on a neighbor's porch wearing only a diaper.
Deputies say Billie Eason was asleep inside her Todd Lee Drive home when her two year old son got out.
Luckily, alert neighbors called police before anything bad happened.
The neighbor told a 911 dispatcher that she heard a thump outside her window.
She found the boy standing outside on the porch crying.
She took him inside to keep him warm. It was about 28-degrees at the time the boy was found.
Deputies believe the boy slipped out of the home through an unlocked front door sometime around midnight.
According to deputies, Eason knew her son could get out, but did nothing about it.
"Bottom line is that everyone was lucky in this situation. The child was found by the concerned neighbors and taken in and kept warm and checked by EMS and kept warm, returned home to a safe environment and make sure they were in a safe environment situation," said Sgt. Kristopher Shultz, Clark County Sheriff's Department.
Eason is scheduled to be in court on Monday, February 13th.
Clark County Children's Services is now investigating.
The following people have recently been booked into Jail. They may not have been convicted of the crimes they are charged with and are innocent until proven guilty.
