Theater shooting victim home in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) - The local woman who survived the Colorado shootings is back home in Springfield.

Matt McQuinn shielded his girlfriend, Samantha Yowler, when the gunman opened fire Friday, July 20 inside an Aurora movie theater.

She suffered a gunshot wound to the leg, he was killed.

A fund for Matt McQuinn has been established through Maiden Lane Church in Springfield to help offset funeral costs.

Visitation will be at the church Friday between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. and again from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:00 a.m.

The pair moved to Colorado last November
