SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) - 94 degrees, that's the temperature inside James Walls's Springfield home. He's been without power for several days.
"It first went out Friday evening and it came back on that night, stayed on all night, then went back out Saturday morning. It was out all day Saturday, came back on Saturday evening for a couple hours and then went back out Sunday and it's been off since Sunday," says Walls.
Being in the dark is taking it's toll on his wallet.
"I just came here to get some more clothes and go back to the hotel that I got yesterday. As soon as you leave, I'm going back to my hotel where it's nice and cool. I've spent about, between lost grocery bills and a hotel bill and extra gas, about $400," comments Walls.
He says It's an expense he can't afford.
It's like all of the bills I was going to pay in the next few weeks just won't get paid," explains Walls.
And he's angry.
"It shouldn't happen. We're supposed to be a high-tech advanced society and they can't come out and turn the power back on in five days. I mean, give me a break. I just hope that someone from Ohio Edison is watching this and will get a truck out here to get my power back on," says Walls.
Walls says Ohio Edison told him that they hope to have his power restored by 6 PM Thursday.
