SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) - Funeral services have been set for the local victim of the Colorado movie theater shootings.

Visitation for Matt McQuinn will be held Friday, July 27 from 2:00 until 4:00 pm and again from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the Maiden Lane Church in Springfield.

His funeral is planned for Saturday morning, July 28 at 10:00 am at the church located on Maiden Lane.

Matt is one of twelve people killed in the massacre Friday, July 20. He was shielding his girlfriend, Samantha Yowler, when he was shot. Yowler was shot in the leg, but will recover. Her brother was not hurt.

Family members say the couple moved to Colorado to start a new life together.

Church members say McQuinn was active in their church's youth group.  Peers remember him for his laid back personality and infectious laughter.
