SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) - A bumpy landing Tuesday night at the Springfield Beckley Municipal Airport.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was called to investigate around 5:00 pm.

Investigators say a small engine plane had to make an emergency landing after its landing gear failed.  It made a belly landing on the runway.

The pilot, Michael J. Botwin, 67, of Fairborn, was not hurt.  The Federal Aviation Administration will arrive Wednesday to complete the investigation.

The plane was identified as a Buesing Lowell Lancair 320.
