President declares disaster after storm

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) - President Obama declared the damaging storms we had June 29-July 2, 2012 a major disaster.

The Miami Valley counties included are Auglaize, Champaign, Clark, Miami and Shelby.

The designation makes these area eligible for federal aid to supplement state and local recovery efforts.

The funds will help with emergency work and repair or replacement of facilities damaged during the severe storms and straight-line winds.

Other Ohio counties eligible for fundings are Adams, Allen, Athens, Belmont, Coshocton, Fairfield, Franklin, Gallia, Guernsey, Hancock, Hardin, Harrison, Highland, Hocking, Jackson, Knox, Lawrence, Licking, Logan, Meigs, Monroe, Morgan, Morrow, Muskingum, Noble, Paulding, Perry, Pickaway, Pike, Putnam, Van Wert, and Washington.
