SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) - A Sinclair Community College faculty member is in trouble for forging a police report.
Sheriff deputies say Diane Pencil filed a fake police report about her missing work computer.
Investigators say she admitted that she found an old Clark County filing report online, filled it out and gave it to Sinclair to put on record that the computer was reported stolen.
A Sinclair officer spotted the false report and contacted the sheriff's department.
Investigators say Pencil told them she lost her work computer and didn't want to get into trouble.
She is accused of forging a deputy's name on the report. The name of the deputy she's accused of forging was not employed by the sheriff at the time of the report.
Pencil is charged with two counts of felony forgery. She is scheduled into the Clark County Municipal Court July 24.
