Former Enon clerk accused of taking money

ENON, Ohio (WDTN) - Authorities said former village clerk and treasurer Debra Maurer stole nearly $40,000 between 2008 and 2012.
They said Maurer would direct deposit village funds into her personal bank account and then change village records to cover her trails.
Sara Jones has lived in Enon for more than 20 years. She's upset over the allegations against Maurer.
"It's depriving everybody. It's not just one person it's hurting. It's hurting a lot," said Jones.
Maurer is charged with one count of theft in office and one count of tampering with evidence.
Thursday night she posted bail. Friday morning she plead not guilty to the charges against her.
