SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) - Drones are on hold in the Dayton area.
The FAA is not yet ready to approve our region as a five-year test site for unmanned aerial vehicles.
Springfield is competing to be one of 6 test sites and bring hundreds of jobs to the area.
Seventh District Congressman Steve Austria says the FAA, which was supposed to make up its mind on criteria for site selection, has missed a deadline.
Austria calls it a setback.
Congressman Austria says he will meet with the FAA as soon as possible and hold its feet to the fire.
