CLARK COUNTY, Ohio (WDTN) - Double murder suspect Timothy Jones Junior appeared in Clark County Common Pleas Court for the first time Tuesday after being arrested in Alabama two weeks ago.
At the hearing, the judge delayed Jones' arraignment so he could have time to get a lawyer, but his bond was set at $1 million.
Jones had been on the run since October when police say he shot and killed Arbrie Smith and Dovon Williams during an argument outside a home on West Perrin Avenue in Springfield.
He was finally tracked down in Decatur, Alabama by U.S. Marshals earlier this month.
Jones' mother says people shouldn't jump to conclusions about what happened that October day.
"Ya'll don't know the real deal," says Annette Jones. "He's the only one who knows."
But Williams' mother Mary Dill, who is actually cousins with Jones, says she found out all she needed to know by looking in Jones' eyes at the hearing.
"There's no remorse," Dill says. "I don't care what they do to him. Whatever he has coming I hope they throw the book."
Jones' arraignment was put on hold until February 2nd.
The following people have recently been booked into Jail. They may not have been convicted of the crimes they are charged with and are innocent until proven guilty.
