SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) - A Clark County inmate is back in custody after he tries to escape deputies.

According to officials, Jayvon Hutchins was transported from the Clark County Jail to Springfield Regional Medical Center after he suffered injuries from a fall around 7 p.m. Friday.

After receiving treatment and being released from the hospital, Hutchins attempted to escape.

The Clark County Sheriff's Office stated Hutchins ran from a deputy, and in the process of fleeing, he assaulted the deputy as well as three hospital staff members.

Hutchins was pepper sprayed and captured outside of the hospital and taken back to the emergency room.

He was released from the hospital and transported back to the Clark County Jail.

He will be charged with escape and four counts of assault.
