Firefighters were called to the RD Holder Oil Company located at the intersection of Folk Ream and Detrick Jordan roads in Pike Township around 11 a.m. when a fuel truck caught fire.
The blaze quickly spread to an adjacent warehouse.
Flames and thick, black smoke are pouring from the 15,000 square foot building and can be seen for miles away.
The intense heat, fire and risk of an explosion prompted firefighters to order everyone back from the scene.
Equipment from at least seven different fire departments has been sent to the scene.
Schools Close Early
Northwestern Local Schools in Clark County, located about three miles from the scene, are dismissing early due nearby industrial fire that continues to burn.
The RD Holder Oil Company supplies fuel and lubricants to customers in Ohio and Northern Kentucky. They also distribute Dragon Racing fuels.
