Student brings bb gun to Urbana HS

URBANA, Ohio (WDTN) - An Urbana high school student is in trouble for bringing a bb gun to school Monday morning.
A concerned student told school administrators that a classmate had a weapon.
Administrators quickly secured the 16 year old in the office and called police.
The principal said the student admitted he had a bb gun in his possession. Police checked the weapon when they arrived. It was, indeed, a bb gun, but it was broken.
The student is now in juvenile detention charged with disorderly conduct, inducing panic and possession of a weapon in a school zone.
The district superintendent notified all the teachers about the incident in an email. Parents were also notified via telephone.
A written note also went home with all high school students.
