ST. PARIS, Ohio (WDTN) - Saint Paris police say store clerks called them after a man restrained them with zip ties and robbed them with a gun.

It happened at Howards IGA West Main Street in St. Paris Monday night around 10:00 pm.

Billy Smoot has lived in St. Paris for nearly 40 years and said he will be taking precautions from now on.

"Everybody knows everybody.  They keep an eye out for each other's places.  I'm retired so I get to be more or less a look out," said Smoot.

The clerks described the robber as a white man about 6 feet tall wearing black glasses, a navy blue zip up sweat shirt and wearing a camouflage hat.
