URBANA, Ohio (AP) - An Ohio man accused of stabbing, suffocating and dismembering his girlfriend has pleaded guilty to aggravated murder and other charges.
The Champaign County Prosecutor's Office said 26-year-old Matthew Puccio's pleas came during a court hearing Wednesday. He faces life in prison when he is sentenced Aug. 20 for killing 21-year-old Jessica Rae Sacco.
Puccio is among five people charged in the death of Sacco, whose remains were found in the bathtub of their Urbana duplex apartment in late March, about a week after police believe she was killed.
A couple from Fenton, Mich., and two people from Urbana have pleaded not guilty in the case. Investigators say they failed to intervene in the killing and helped Puccio cut off or transport limbs to southern Ohio and Kentucky.
