URBANA, Ohio (WDTN) - The Champaign Health District will hold another H1N1 flu clinic on Sunday November 22, 2009 at the Champaign Community Center from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM. The clinic originally scheduled for Tuesday November 17, 2009 will be cancelled due to vaccine delivery and supply concerns.

The clinic will continue to be for the priority groups only. Clinics for vaccination of persons not in the priority groups will be scheduled as vaccine supplies allow according to direction from the Ohio Department of Health and the CDC.

The staff of the Champaign Health District is very concerned about the health of all of our residents and knows that by vaccinating those in the priority group we begin to achieve herd immunity for the rest of our residents by stopping the spread of disease.

Remember, that you to can stop the spread of the H1N1 virus and other diseases with good hand washing and respiratory etiquette.

There will not be a charge for the vaccine, but you must be in one of the priority groups to receive the vaccine. The priority groups continue to be:

  • Pregnant women
  • Healthcare and EMS personnel
  • Ages 6 months – 24 years
  • Household caregivers of children under 6 months old
  • 25 – 64 years old with chronic medical conditions
