Hamilton man killed in Afghanistan

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - A Hamilton man was killed last month in Afghanistan, the Department of Defense announced Monday.

Staff Sgt. Robert A. Massarelli, 32, of Hamilton was killed June 24. The announcement did not give details surrounding Massarelli’s death.

He was assigned to the 96th Transportation Company, 180th Transportation Battalion, 4th Sustainment Brigade, 13th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary), Fort Hood, Texas.

Sgt. Michael J. Strachota, 28, of White Hall, Ark. was also killed June 24.
