WAPAKONETA, Ohio (WDTN) - Charges have been filed in the investigation of a dead dog found inside a cage that was fished out of Grand Lake St. Marys.
The Auglaize County Dog Warden said the dog was shot to death after the dog attacked and injured a guest of a family member of the owner. The dog was then dumped into the lake.
Mardie Biederman has been charged with failure to report a dog attack and turning the dog over to the Board of Health for examination, according to Auglaize County Prosecuting Attorney Edwin A. Pierce.
The cage was found floating in the water near a campground in early June.
