MORAINE, Ohio (WDTN) - Citing a continued loss of revenue, Moraine City Council announced October 9, 2009 a plan to eliminate 58 jobs and close the city's public water park.

The plan calls for the elimination of 28 full time positions. Sixteen of those positions are currently unfilled, meaning 12 employees will be laid off.

Thirty part time positions were cut, and 129 seasonal employee positions were abolished.

Operations at Splash Moraine will suspended for the 2010 season and hours at the Payne Recreation center and Gerhardt Civic Center will be reduced.
