SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (AP) - Cramped office irks congressman

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (AP) -- After serving 18 years in Congress, outgoing Representative David Hobson is less than pleased with his new office quarters.

The old office of the Ohio Republican, who is retiring at the end of the year, is being prepared for a new member to move in.

So along with 55 other departing members of Congress, Hobson's office space has been reduced to a cubicle, one laptop computer, one phone and -- to make it homey -- a plant.

Departing members are urged to only have one staff member at the cubicle at a time, but Hobson says his office still has much to do. So many of his staffers are working from home.

His Ohio offices, meanwhile, are still running.

Hobson calls the situation unprofessional and not a very dignified way to leave Congress.
