DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Just one day after narrowly losing the mayoral election, Mayor Rhine McLin thanked the citizens of Dayton for allowing her to serve for the last 8 years.

"It has been a honor and a privilege." She said in a news conference Wednesday, November 4.

McLin said she is proud of accomplishments over the years including Tech town, bridge repair, and neighborhood development.

" I will keep my professional and political options open. "

McLin said balancing the city's budget will be the most challenging for the new administration.

"Being the mayor of Dayton is a tough job." She said. "You must work hard, and be willing to comprise."

Mayor elect, Gary Leitzell said he ran an election on a tight budget and won.
He knows it will be tough, but said he is up for the job, and hopes the residents of Dayton will support him.

"I think people will find they can trust me whole heartedly. I am no different than anyone else, I am a regular guy from the neighborhood. I am a concerned citizen , who stood up to the machine that he was up against, and I want to move this city forward."
