CARLISLE, Ohio (WDTN) - In light of President Obama's decision to send 30,000 additional troops to Afghanistan, a local military wife from Carlisle said she will continue to support her husband and the troops until the mission is accomplished.

"Who is that? Erica Brown asked her one-year-old daughter Isabella.

"Do you want to give Daddy a kiss?" She said holding up the picture of U.S. Army Sgt. Jory Brown.

Brown is serving in Afghanistan on a year long deployment and missed Isabella's first steps on Monday.

"I just feel so bad for him because he misses so much, with the kids. They grow up so fast."

Erica Brown said this is the second time her husband has been sent overseas and had to leave Isabella and five-year-old Brice.

"Being a single mom, and being by yourself is probably the biggest challenge. But I have my family, and his family in Carlisle, so that helps."

It is a tough role but Erica said its important to stay positive, to pray, and to continue to support her husband and the troops.

"It was pretty scary when he left, but you just get used to it. That is his job and I'll support him. If that is what he has to do, that's what he has to do."

Sgt. Brown comes home to his family in May of next year.

"We just look forward to next year. Next year, he'll be home for Christmas."
