DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN)
Two truck drivers lost their jobs after crashing their rigs on Interstate 75 early Friday morning.
The two semi-trailers collided at S.R. 4 in downtown Dayton.
The crash kept the southbound lanes of the interstate closed for the majority of the overnight hours.
Officers investigating said the drivers worked for the same company and may have been racing when one driver carrying steel coils lost control and tipped over.
A Miami Township man was right behind them when the accident happened.
"These two trucks, doing some excessive speeding as far as I was concerned," Richard Kirchner said. "I was doing 55 to 60 and they were passing me.
Witnesses said the drivers' boss came to the scene and fired them on the spot.
No injuries were reported.
