BROOKVILLE, Ohio (WDTN) - Over a thousand people attended the Dayton Tea Party rally held Friday July 3, at the Golden Gate Park in Brookville.

Folks enjoyed live music, entertainment, face painting, food and fireworks. People were also there to protest what they call wasteful government spending.
"We are all just hardworking people, and we don't want to pay more taxes." Said Judy Young of Dayton.

The rally was hosted by the Dayton Tea Party, a non-profit, non-partisan group that attracted 8,000 people downtown Dayton for a rally on Tax Day, April 15.
"We were protesting the bailouts then, we are still protesting bailouts along with universal healthcare." Said Dayton Tea Party founder Rob Scott.

A Tea Party will be held downtown Springfield July 4, beginning at 11 in the morning.
