DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - A local airman returned home from Afghanistan on Thursday to hugs and kisses from his family at the Dayton International Airport.

Captain Stephen Easter has been away from home for one year, giving the family something extra special to be thankful for this Thanksgiving season.

"Actually starting out, it was a little rough because were looking at the length of time feeling like that's a whole year," said Stephen's wife Jacki Easter.

The couple has 3 daughters, 2-year-old Sarah, 5-year-old Rachael and 14-year-old Jennifer, who all rushed to hug Captain Easter upon his return home. Captain Easter's Wright-Patt co-workers were also at the airport to welcome him home.
