DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Secretary of State Jon Husted talked one on one with 2 NEWS ON ASSIGNMENT'S Pam Elliot about his efforts to keep elections fair and facing political pressure along with lawsuits as Ohio's top elections official.
Husted said he is able to keep politics out of his job and he doesn't have his eyes on some political prize for himself. He said he is focused on running a very good election and paying attention to the needs of his family.
"Both political parties have used the rules for how elections are run to gain some sort of political advantage. My job is to thwart those efforts and to make sure the rules are fair that they're not being manipulated for political purposes and that all voters in the state have equal access to the polls and really feel they are being treated fairly county to county, " Husted said.
