Investigation complete into K-9's death

CELINA, Ohio (WDTN) - The death of a sheriff's department police dog is the focus of an internal investigation.

The Sheriff said Friday that his department will release the findings Monday, August 6.

The K-9, Zak, died Wednesday, August 1 after his handler left him inside a hot patrol car.

Zak's death was the second canine death in three years in Mercer County.

The K-9 program was suspended pending the investigation.
