Indianapolis, IN (WDTN) - More than 100 firefighters responded to a blast that occurred Saturday night in the middle class community of Richmond Hill, a southern suburb of Indianapolis.
Rescue workers say the scene looked like a war zone.
Their efforts were complicated by strong November winds that whipped the flames uncontrollably.
The late night blast was felt as far as three miles away, killing two people and hospitalizing seven others who officials say should fully recover.
Police believe they have located the explosion's epicenter and say the blast was most likely caused by a gas leak.
Power has been turned off and residents have been evacuated.
Total damage estimates are around $4 million.
