RICHMOND, In (WDTN) - The Wernle Youth and Family Treatment Center is on a mission to make life better for troubled children and their families.
Part of that mission played out Wednesday night at the Catalyst 4 Change awards program in Richmond, Indiana.
The center honors those people who make a difference in kids' lives.
The national honoree this year is former Pittsburgh Steeler, Jerome Bettis.
He received the Catalyst for Change award and joins the ranks of previous winners including Regis Philbin, Nicholas Sparks, Lou Holtz and Jim Caviezel.
Our Mark Allan served as emcee of the event.
Wernle is a residential treatment center for physically and sexually abused and neglected boys.
