Woman pleads guilty in NE Ind. deputy's shooting

AUBURN, Ind. (AP) — A northeastern Indiana woman whose boyfriend was killed by police after he shot an officer has pleaded guilty to aiding in attempted murder.
The Auburn Star reports (http://bit.ly/YhXZBS ) 34-year-old Julie Marie King pleaded guilty Frida as part of a plea agreement for her role in the December 2011 shooting of Waterloo Deputy Marshal Steve Brady. Brady was shot just below the left eye socket.
Her 41-year-old boyfriend, Ralph Hardiek, was fatally shot by police several hours later when he pointed a gun at them.
Prosecutors agreed to drop a murder charge accusing King of committing a crime in which a person was killed. The agreement calls for a maximum sentence of 38 years in prison. Judge Monte Brown is scheduled to sentence King on May 6.
